2. rent a nextbike


enter the bike number.


Scan the QR-Code on the bike.


You get the code for the combination lock via SMS or on the display.


Call our customer support +432742/ 22 99 01 and say the bike number.


Get the code for the combination lock via SMS.


Open the bike lock with the displayed code (4 numbers), take the lock with you and start biking.

You can rent up to four bikes with your nextbike-account.

nextbike takes a winter break from 15th of November to 21th of March, except in St. Pölten. During this time bikes are not available.

3. return the bike


Return the bike at any rental station within Lower Austria and lock the bike with the combination lock.


Return the bike via App choosing the right returnal station and lock the bike with the combination lock.


Or call the Hotline Number +43 2742 22 99 01 to return the bike. Leave a recording where did you return the bike. Tell us the name or the number of the nextbike rental station.

General use: Lock the bike with the cominbation lock, choose returnal station per App or call the Hotline to confirm the rental-stop.

Return viaHotline: call 02742/229901 and leave a message with the name of the returnal place and end the call entering #.  

Return via App: Turn on GPS and choose the right returnal place shown in the list. Wait till your receive confirmation.

You are only allowed to return the bikes at an official nextbike renting station.

Starting credit

Before being able to take off on your first ride, you will first have to activate your customer account by verifying your means of payment (Credit Card or debit).

  • Upon confirming your payment method, you will be charged 1€.

  • This 1€ will be credited to you as a starting credit and can be used with all tariffs.

  • After debit via Credit Card your customer account will be activated immediately. Debitting via credit transfer may take up to four days.

  • You can change your means of payment at any time.

In the case of theft or breakdown of the hired bicycle, liability is taken over to the amount of € 75 per nextbike. Customers are fully liable (€500) in case of intent or gross negligence.

Time of liability starts at transmission of the numerical code and ends after the inspection by a nextbike service team or even earlier if the bicycle has been hired again, but not later than 24 hours after returning the bicycle.

Servcie fee

  1. If you do not return the bike at an official nextbike station you will be charged 10€. In individual cases the amount could be higher, depending of the extra work. You can look for the official stations on  www.nextbike.at/Standorte.
  2. If a bike is found unlocked, we charge an extra amount of 25€ per bike.
  3. If the lock is lost or broken, we charge an amount of 50€.
  4. Damages will be charged according to the circumstances up to an maximum amount of 75€. In individual cases the amount could be higher, depending of the extra work.
