Returning Nextbikes: How to Do It Right!
A friendly reminder on how to properly return our bikes:
- Bike Types: We have Classic Bikes with a front lock and Smart Bikes with a rear lock.
- Finding a Station: Please use the app to locate official nextbike stations. If all spots are taken, kindly place your bike near the station without causing any obstructions.
- Locking the Bike:
- Classic Bikes: Please close the front lock, give it a gentle tug to ensure it's secure, and confirm the return on the bike computer by pressing OK twice.
- Smart Bikes: Push the rear lock downward until it clicks into place. Upon successful return, you will hear two beeps.
- Check Return: Please verify in the app that your rental has ended. If you encounter any issues, our hotline at +43 463 537 3333 or the in-app function is there to help.

The municipality of Klagenfurt at lake Wörthersee (department for climate and environmental protection) and the IPAK International Project Management Agency Klagenfurt at lake Wörthersee GmbH – a project management agency, 90% owned by the municipality of Klagenfurt at lake Wörthersee and 10% owned by the tourism region of Klagenfurt at lake Wörthersee GmbH, which are both operators of the bike-sharing system. The booking and billing is arranged by nextbike GmbH. The maintenance, repairs and the distribution of the bicycles are carried out by the Soziale Betriebe Kärnten.
